What should I expect during my therapy session?
Your first visit will include the intial evaluation and then a brief
treatment. You will be instructed on therapeutic exercises, learn how
to manage and care for your symtoms, recieve manual therapy if necessary,
and may be treated with some type of therapeutic modality (i.e. ice,
heat, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction, etc.).
How long are the sessions?
The average treatment time is 60-90 minutes depending on your treatment plan.
What should I wear?
It is best to wear clothing that allows you to easily expose the area
that is being treated. There are lockers available to store your personal
items.
Will I be seeing the same Therapist?
Yes, unless requested you will see the same therapist and an aide will be assisting you with your exercises.
Is it common to have soreness from the initial evaluation and treatment?
Some patients do have mild soreness after their initial evaluation. Your therapist will make every attempt to perform a
thorough evaluation with care not to exacerbate your symptoms. If you have an increase in symptoms, please call your
therapist for advice. During the course of your treatment, your treatment will be adjusted
based on how you are responding. Therefore, it is imperative you communicate any changes in
symptoms with your therapist.
How many treatments will I need?
Our average number of treatments is 10, but this can vary dependent
on the extent and type of injury that is being treated.
What qualifications do the staff have?
All Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapy staff are licensed
in the state of California. Therapists working in the hand therapy
department also have advanced practice certificates in hand therapy
and physical agent modalities issued by the California Board of Occupational
Therapy. Check out the "Staff" page for more

the type of treatment rendered and the length of the treatment time.

whether you have a co-pay, deductable, etc. Our staff will gladly
